I applaude both Disney's venturing into these stormy waters and I thank Bryce for his article pointing out this latest Disney venture.

Disney are a very brave company to announce this policy change. How long will it be before groups start campaigning to stop same-sex ceremonies?

I'll bet Disney did focus group studies first and figured out that they have more business to gain from this decision, than to lose. While I applaud their new and more open policy, I'm suggesting that their motivation is more monetary than moral.

I personally believe that homosexuals should be allowed to marry and divorce, and that it will improve both the economy and our societal fabric.

You must also look at the number of gay/lesbian actors and actresses that they employ at their own theme parks. It would be quite the double standard that their hiring practices would be contrary to policy regarding one of the programs, namely this one.

I might imagine if there were protests, they would start here in Florida rather than in California, since were are in the middle of the "Bible belt" here. That being said, this announcement sort of flew under the radar this week. (media was too pre-occupied with Anna Nicole Smith and Don Imus..but lets stick with the subject at-hand)

But how much of this was a deliberate policy to push this story below sight and focus on something else (Anna Nicole Smith etc)? I'm sure if this story was considered more important those media bosses would've pushed this on to the front page a lot quicker.

Most print media tends to be on the left, so I would have imagined that this would be more front page news v/s being relegated to being buried inside.
