Different beliefs

What do you believe?

We all have different beliefs and sometimes God doesn't always comes first, even for a religious person. How have your beliefs been shaped?

My week has been taken over by broken computers, a son in hospital and an overload of work. Sometimes it's difficult to find time for God or even wonder if God is with us when everything around us is going on and deadlines are looming. But once the mist clears it's nice to appreciate that God was here all the time and even when we don't acknowledge Him, he still acknowledges us.

Beliefs are everywhere in our world: believing in God, not believing in God, believing in money, believing in ghosts, believing in our strengths or our weaknesses, believing what someone has told us.

But maybe the greatest belief of all is the belief that other people have the right to respect and consideration. Whether we all believe in God or whether we believe in different gods, what matters is that we try to understand who people really are.

We are all affected by different things in our lives and maybe you think that understanding other people comes second. But maybe it’s those people, with God’s help, who can actually be there for us when we need them most.

The word “religion” is something that either inspires or repulses depending on your understanding or previous experiences. But don’t be contented with just doing what you’ve always done and living in your own world. There’s a great place to explore out there so start off by giving me your views and feedback on the articles which will be appearing here and tell me why you think our modern society is so secular. What are your previous experiences of religion and have they changed your view of God?
